Cape Wellness Works Services: Massage Therapist

Massage Therapy on Cape Cod

Each massage session is customized to meet your specific needs and goals. Our Licensed Massage Therapist is trained and certified in a variety of different modalities. Individual differences in anatomy, stress levels, lifestyle patterns, and personal preferences will help the practitioner create a session that will be most beneficial to you. Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, chronic pain and muscle tension. Massage may be helpful for anxiety, digestive disorders, fibromyalgia, headaches, insomnia, myofascial pain, soft tissue strains or injuries, sports injuries, and temporomandibular joint pain.

Beyond the benefits for specific conditions, massage can offer an increased awareness of the body. Experiencing and acknowledging where you hold stress and tension patterns can help you in preventing falling back into the habits that created the initial imbalance.

What to Expect at the Massage Therapist’s

Initial appointment begins with an in depth intake with the therapist to discuss medical conditions and level of pain or discomfort. The therapist will ask you questions to better design a session that meets your needs and goals within the time allotted. Do not be afraid to discuss any apprehensions or concerns. All information is confidential. Let the therapist know what areas of your body you would like worked on, and if there are any areas to avoid.

The therapist will then leave the room for you to undress to your comfort level and get under the sheet and blanket on the table. During the session, the only bodyparts that will not be draped are the ones being worked on. Your modesty is always protected.

Remember to breathe, as it helps you to relax and release tension.

Cancellation Policy:

24 hour advanced notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule the time slot that was held for you. If you are unable to give a minimum of 24 hours advance notice, you will be responsible for the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.

What Patients Say

Great for pain management
“I’m a regular w/ Michelle. I can never recommend her enough. I went to her this week having badly straining my shoulder. She spent so much time working and untangling the knots and gaining mobility back for me. She did cupping, which I had never had before. Great that she offers that too!”
Lisa B.
